Teltonika RUTM50 5G Industrial Cellular Router
The Teltonika RUTM50 is an industrial 5G cellular router designed for business connectivity, IoT and remote networking. It supports 5G Sub-6 GHz in both Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) modes, with 4G LTE fallback, dual SIM support and wired/wireless network interfaces for flexible deployments.
Key Features
- 5G and 4G connectivity: Supports 5G Sub-6 GHz SA/NSA and 4G LTE Cat 19/18. Maximum data rates depend on network, signal, carrier, configuration and regional model.
- Dual SIM with automatic switching: Two Mini-SIM (2FF) slots and configurable switching scenarios, including weak signal, data limits, roaming, network loss or connection failure.
- Gigabit Ethernet: Five RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, including a WAN port, for wired devices and network uplinks.
- Wi-Fi: Dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless connectivity.
- WAN backup and failover: Supports backup WAN and failover configurations to help maintain connectivity when a primary connection is interrupted.
- Remote management: Compatible with Teltonika Remote Management System (RMS) for supported remote administration and monitoring.
- Digital input/output: One configurable digital input and one configurable digital output on the 4-pin power connector for supported monitoring and automation tasks.
- USB 2.0: USB-A port supports compatible external devices and applications.
- Industrial installation: Aluminum housing, DIN-rail or flat-surface mounting, and an operating temperature range of -40 °C to 75 °C.

Service and compatibility
Cellular bands, carrier approvals, included accessories and power-supply package can vary by regional version and order code. Confirm the exact RUTM50 model code, local carrier compatibility, SIM/data plan, and package contents before purchase. Passive PoE input is not compatible with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt PoE standards.

How it fits into a network
A cellular router is normally one part of a larger connectivity design. The device can sit between a cellular service and the local network, connect directly to equipment, or provide a secondary WAN path alongside an existing broadband connection. The best deployment depends on the number of clients, required applications, available interfaces, security policy, and whether the cellular connection is primary or backup.
Business continuity and failover
When used for backup internet, the cellular connection can provide an alternate path when a primary wired service is interrupted. This can help keep selected business applications, remote access, payment systems, cloud services, and other critical traffic connected. Actual failover behavior depends on network configuration, routing policy, service availability, and the capabilities of the surrounding network.
Choosing the right cellular service
Carrier selection is an important part of the product decision. Check the supported cellular bands for the exact model and regional version, then compare them with the intended carrier. Coverage maps are useful for planning, but real performance can vary by building materials, terrain, signal conditions, congestion, antenna placement, and local network capacity.
